Commissioner Ellen Nowak named Chairperson of the Public Service Commission

Governor Scott Walker appointed Commissioner Ellen Nowak as the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. The Chairperson of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin is appointed by the governor for a two year term. Commissioner Nowak is taking the mantle of Chairperson from Commissioner Phil Montgomery who has served in that capacity since his initial appointment to the Public Service Commission in 2011. “The appointment to the Chair of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin is a distinct honor and I am truly humbled,” said incoming Chairperson Ellen Nowak. “I look forward to the challenges ahead and will continue to do all I can to advance sound energy policy that benefits the state of Wisconsin and its ratepayers.” The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin is made up of three Commissioners and they jointly render decisions that affect the regulated utility companies throughout the state. Incoming Chairperson Nowak is joined on the Commission by incoming Commissioner Mike Huebsch and Commissioner Phil Montgomery. Commissioner Nowak’s appointment to the Chairpersonship of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin will take effect on March 1, 2015.
